Our article 'Stopping our taps running dry!' is the latest in our series of articles which takes readers on a 360 degree tour of how behavioural science is transforming our lives 24/7.
Water shortages and water stress due to climate change and population pressures is an increasingly prevalent issue in our world today. Two thirds of the world’s population is expected to live in water stressed areas by 2025, and even rainy England is expected to face water shortages by 2050 unless rapid action is taken to curb water use and wastage.
We individuals and households can play a major role in tackling this issue by managing our water usage more carefully. This has inspired a number of organisations to draw on behavioural science to develop and test innovative approaches to encourage households to use less water. Our article 'Stopping our taps running dry!' explores these different approaches.
