Our article 'We don't need no education' is the latest in our series of articles which takes readers on a 360 degree tour of how behavioural science is transforming our lives 24/7.
Many people are woefully poor at keeping on top of their finances. It’s not easy to ensure everyone is financially literate since traditional forms of financial education show no lasting impact. This literacy deficit is further compounded by the impacts of the many cognitive biases and less rational thought-processes on our financial decision-making.
But there may be hope as new research from the behavioural sciences has shown that giving people financial feedback rather than providing education can make significant improvements to our financial behaviours. ‘We don’t need no education!’ shows how simple feedback can triumph over traditional education.
